We are men, women and children of all ages. Many of us are ‘not from here’ originally, but the circumstances of life have brought us together in Toronto. If you are new to this city or country most of us can relate, having once been new to the city and even to Canada. We’re just regular people, some raising families and many of us working in the city in a variety of occupations. We are concerned about our city, our country and our world.
We are Christians who believe that God cares about us and our world because He created us. We believe that He cares so much for us that His Son, Jesus Christ came to earth and gave his life to pay the price for the sin which separates us from God. Through our faith in Jesus, we believe that his Spirit lives in us and enables us to begin to live the kind of life that God would have us to live.
We believe that the Bible is God’s word to us for today and so we use it to inform and instruct our faith and to guide our lives. We believe that God intends for us to love Him and to love one another. That’s why we call ourselves the ‘family of God,' and try our best to love and care for each other as brothers and sisters – we want to be a blessing to God and to people! We believe in prayer as a means of communicating with God, that God wants us to pray about all aspects of life and that God hears and answers our prayer.
Fairview Church of God began its ministry in 1979. We meet each Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Advent Lutheran Church building, 2800 Don Mills Road to worship God together. We have a Sunday school program for children during part of that time. Music is an important part of our services. We have a wide variety of music from traditional to contemporary music, involving a choir, worship team, and various instruments.
We are an evangelical Christian congregation, affiliated with the Church of God movement which has administrative offices in Anderson, Indiana. You are most welcome to join us and become part of our church family.
